Midnight MusingsMonday, June 25, 2007The Atom subscribe link
Yeah, it doesn't work the way I thought it did. If your browser supports RSS feeds (the newest Internet Explorer and Firefox both do) or have the misfortune to be running Windows Vista like I do, you can use RSS feeds. The way these works is that you click the Atom link at the bottom, and click "Subscribe to this feed" on the window that pops up, and you'll be able to access the feed from your favorites (the little yellow star on the left side of the IE toolbar). I'm not really sure how it works on Firefox. And, if you have dialup, I think the feeds are saved to your computer so you can read the posts here without being connected as your subscriptions are downloaded automatically.
If you're running Vista, you can open the Feed Headline gadget and set it to Midnight Musings feed and you'll have this blogs posts displayed on your desktop all the time. 10 Things You May or May Not Know About Evan
1. Evan has red hair. We're not sure exactly how he ended up being a ginger, but he is.
2. Evan has spit up four times in his life that we're aware of. One of those four was this morning all over the sheets of his parents' bed. 3. Evan's head is made out of metal and his hands are magnets. It's really hard to get those hands off of his face. 4. One of his favorite magnet-hand positions is the cha-cha. 5. Evan is a very gassy little man. He once let one rip in church that actually echoed off of the walls. 6. He always sneezes in multiples, usually threes. Following those is usually a failed sneeze where he breathes in to sneeze, but instead moans UHHHhhh in a descending pitch. 7. His parents laugh every time they hear that noise. 8. His big toenails are triangular in shape, and his feet are very big for a baby his size. 9. Evan likes to stay up really late with his dad watching the All Blacks playing rugby to let his mom get some real sleep between feedings. Then his daddy sleeps really late the next day. Evan doesn't sleep in. 10. He LOVES taking a bath. He can be extremely cranky, but as soon as he hits that water, the crying stops and he's happy. Saturday, June 23, 2007And we're running (Kind Of)
The blog is working (obviously) and the main photo page is up, but I've only got photos from the hospital on the site so far. Hopefully tomorrow (Sunday) I'll be able to get the other three photo pages up. I don't really plan on having the calendar or Family pages up this weekend.
We're leaving for Cleveland on Tuesday. I may be able to get some work done on my laptop while I'm up there, but I can't guarantee anything. I have to "steal" wireless while I'm at Kim's grandmother's house or spend a few hours at the library to have any Internet access when I'm up there, so I may end up just waiting to finish up anything I don't get to this weekend sometime after July 4. On another Cleveland note, I'm going to my first live show in over a year. Built To Spill just happen to be playing at The Grog Shop in Cleveland on July 2, which is smack dab in the middle of our stay in Cleveland. It's the same day as the wedding we're up there for, but the wedding starts at 11 a.m. and the show is at 7 p.m. I've already gotten permission from Kim to take a break from being Mr. Daddy for the evening, and I've already bought my tickets to be Mr. Rock-N-Roller for the night. Built to Spill are incredible, by the way. This is my 5th or 6th time going to one of their shows. They're incredible live. I think the last show I went to was either the 2005 Built to Spill show in Atlanta or The Pixies at The Fox in 2004. Fatherhood didn't turn me into a dud. I turned me into a dud, apparently. Welcome
We're still getting the kinks worked out in the site, so if you find any problems, please e-mail us (our e-mails are at the bottom of the page). Also, if you'd like to subscribe to this blog, click the "Atom" link below, and you will get e-mail notifications whenever anything is added to LittleManEvan.com.
